Pre Charlton | Marko Marosi

21 October 2022

Marko Marosi spoke to the media ahead of Charlton's visit to Montgomery Waters Meadow tomorrow.

The goalkeeper returned to the Town side - and registered another clean sheet - during last weekend's victory at Fleetwood.

Prior to the trip to Highbury Stadium, Marosi missed the matches against Cheltenham and MK Dons after dislocating and cutting his finger during the win over Burton.

Now, though, he is back and looking forward to being part of the Shrewsbury side that is aiming to register a third consecutive win when they face the Addicks tomorrow.

Speaking ahead of the game, Marosi discussed his injury, Town's position in the League One table and also the performances of Chey Dunkley - who has been a towering presence at centre-back since arriving at the club in the summer.

ON HIS INJURY:

"It is good to finally be back. It has been a tricky little injury. I wanted to be back sooner, but it had to be right.

"We just had to be patient and take our time with it. And it feels good now. I had to wait for the stitches to be taken out.
As soon as they were out, we were cooking."

ON GETTING INJURED WHEN IN GOOD FORM:

"It is always tough when you get injured, especially when it is a freaky one like that.

"It is what it is, it is part of football these things happen. You just have to stay positive about things like that and be ready."

ON THE CLEAN SHEET AT FLEETWOOD:

"It was a really tough game. First half maybe, we should have put the game to bed.

"It wasn't so, and we knew second half they were going to try and throw everything at us, and they did.

"To be fair, we defended really well and should have scored again.

"It was a really good win for us away and a good clean sheet. The boys defended for their lives again."

On TOWN'S POSITION IN THE TABLE:

"We just concentrate on each game as it comes. And we try and get a positive result in every game we play.

"It is really nice, the boys are positive we just need to keep going.

"The hard work never stops, we want to be improving every day on the training pitch. And we have got a lot to learn.

"We have a lot to work on. We have been working on everything this week.

"There are always things you can improve on and we learned a lot from Fleetwood, we learned a whole bunch from that game."

ON CHEY DUNKLEY:

"We have each other's backs, and that always grows.

"With Chey, everyone can see he is a warrior; he puts his head in places where I do not think many would.

"From defensive set pieces, Chey is going to try and get his head on it. That is where trust comes from."

ON THE SQUAD MENTALITY:
"It is a clean sheet mentality, we fight for each other and we are a team.

"You have to do everything in your power to try and win a game. The lads have been doing that."
