Christian Saydee sat down with Salop for his first interview since signing on deadline day.
Saydee was Steve Cotterill's second deadline day signing after he followed fellow striker, Rob Street, through the door.
Joining from Bournemouth, Saydee has previously been on loan at Weymouth and Burton Albion and he played the full 90 minutes of Shrewsbury's 2-0 victory over the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium last February.
The 20-year-old discussed all of the above and explained why he chose Shrewsbury over a host of other clubs who were chasing his signature.
On the loan move:
"I'm very happy. I've spoken to the gaffer over the last week or so and I think we had a good conversation.
"He's probably the main reason I came here. The way he spoke and the way he saw things for me - that drove me to come here.
"Over the last couple of weeks, there have been a few teams that wanted me but when I spoke to the gaffer, the way he spoke and the way he is made me want to join.
"I watched a couple of clips about how we play and I liked it, it suits me."
On himself as a player:
"I'm aggressive and I like to put myself about. I'll fight for the team and hopefully, I can score some goals."
On what he remembers from Town's game at the Pirelli Stadium:
"I remember Tom Bloxham scoring a ridiculous goal from a corner! That's the main thing."
On his loan spells at Burton Albion and Weymouth:
"I think I was a boy before those moves. I could bully other players around me because I was normally bigger than them. But when I went on loan to Burton and Weymouth, everyone got bigger and it was harder for me. I think I still held my own though so hopefully that'll continue.
"I want to get as many games as possible under my belt. Hopefully the gaffer can make me a better player. Hopefully the boys can make me a better player, and we'll do well."
