New signing Rob Street sat down with Salop for the first time since signing for the club on deadline day.
The 20-year-old joined on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace yesterday afternoon.
He has previously been out on loan at Torquay United and Newport County prior to his move to Shropshire.
Speaking in his first interview, Street discussed the move, why he chose Shrewsbury and what fans can expect from him.
On the loan move:
"I'm absolutely delighted and really excited to be here. I've spoken to the manager and he's been really positive in what he's said to me so I couldn't wait to start.
"I heard about the interest a while ago. I had to be a little patient with what was going on in the market but once that deal got close [to being done] it was a no-brainer to come down."
On why attracted him to Shrewsbury:
"The stadium looks lovely. I can't wait to play in front of the fans there.
"What the manager said was really positive and encouraging towards me and the size of the club. We're a big League One club so I'm looking forward to getting started."
On himself as a player:
"[I'm] very hard working, I wear my heart on my sleeve and hopefully I'll score some goals - more than I have previously. I try and bring a bit of everything and bring others into the game."
On how his loans at Torquay United and Newport:
"[They helped me develop as a footballer] massively. They were both very different loans in terms of what I learnt from them and they're both very good clubs and I'm looking forward to bringing what I've learnt here.
"I'm still young, I'm only 20, so I still need to improve areas of my game, learn as I go, learn off the senior pros, and hopefully when that all starts to click I'll be able to bring a few more goals into my game."
On what Steve Cotterill has said to him so far:
"He's told me to come in, work hard and get my head down so I can [have an] impact [on] the team."
