Steve Cotterill spoke to the press after today's victory away at Forest Green Rovers.
Shrewsbury Town ran out 2-0 winners at The Bolt New Lawn Stadium on Saturday afternoon with Rekeil Pyke and Jordan Shipley netting the goals.
The occasion also marked manager Steve Cotterill's 100th game in charge of the club - a fact he wasn't aware of before the game.
The manager discussed the above, praised Chey Dunkley and explained Julien Dacosta's absence.
ON THE GAME:
"It was an entertaining game in quite difficult conditions because of the wind. You don't quite realise it until you step out here to do the interviews and into the open.
"I thought it was a really good and professional performance from our guys. I thought we played well, kept a clean sheet and scored a couple of great goals so it's almost the perfect away performance really, winning 2-0. We'll get back on the bus now, have something to eat and enjoy Saturday night and Sunday."
ON THE GOALS:
"I'm really really pleased for Rekeil. I said to him before the game that because Shipperz (Jordan Shipley) was playing a little bit higher today, we would definitely get a ball in that corridor. He had to make sure he was there for that tap in and he was so we're really pleased for him.
"Getting an early goal in the second half as well - which was really good quality - set us well on the way.
"There's nothing to complain about today. We're really pleased with the commitment of the lads and really pleased with Shipperz and (Tom) Bayliss today and with them knowing each other from years ago, that was almost a flashback to their Coventry days with that little bit of interchange and it was first class.
"They're great lads and I'm really really pleased for them. I think they needed that today."
ON THE NEW SIGNINGS:
“Rob went on, he is probably more of a central striker but he went on the right-hand side and he worked his socks off.
“He has shown today he can play off the right which is really handy.
“Christian looks like he could do with a little bit more training but we saw glimpses of his power and pace. That will be important going forward.
“And then Carl Winchester and we got a little glimpse of his pace going up the left wing.
“I am really pleased with everybody today. The news have only been here for 48 hours, it’s really difficult coming into a football club and then going onto a football pitch a day after you’ve met everybody.
“But that is a credit to the dressing room for how they are. A big well done to the boys for the way they have accepted them, the way they have welcomed them.
“But obviously a big well done for the boys who went out on the pitch today and had to learn as they went along really.”
ON CHEY DUNKLEY’S PERFORMANCE:
“I thought he outstanding and I did say that after the game.
“I thought he was outstanding and I’m really pleased for him because he is a great lad – a great lad.
“He is a winner, he is determined, he is better on the ball than people think. He is not as silky as we would like him but his heart is huge. His heart is huge.
“The staff love him in because he is on it and he wants to do well all the time.”
ON JULIEN DACOSTA:
“Julien will probably be out for a month. He has got a double hernia. He went in and had an operation on Thursday.
“He will probably be out for a month or so. But he is okay. He has got over it and now he is resting at home.
“The next two weeks will probably be a bit slow for him. And then it will kick on quite quickly.”
ON REACHING 100 GAMES AS TOWN BOSS:
“I am pleased that we have won because when you hit landmarks like that it is nice when you win so it makes the day more memorable.
Thank you to everybody at Shrewsbury for having me for 100 games.”
