Midfielder Taylor Perry met with the media ahead of our League One clash at Stevenage.
The summer recruit has enjoyed a fine start to this Town career with Taylor putting in an excellent display against Cheltenham last weekend before then scoring at Leeds.
Speaking to the assembled media, the 22-year-old talked about how well he has settled into life at Shrewsbury since arriving from Wolves.
And the midfielder - who is known as TP to his team mates - also revealed he will be stepping up to sing a song tonight as part of his initiation.
ON SCORING HIS FIRST SHREWSBURY GOAL:
“It’s always nice to score but to score my first goal for Shrewsbury was a special feeling.
“And to do it away at Leeds, in front of 35,000 fans in a big atmosphere – it's definitely a day that I'll remember for a long time.”
ON HOW HE’S SETTLED IN:
“I’ve settled in really well, the lads have been brilliant with me. We've got a great bunch – including all the staff as well.
“We just want to push on now the season has started. We started with a win, I’ve settled in nicely and I just want to keep my form going and kick on.
“It can be hard coming into a new club. I had been at Wolves all my life, this was my first permanent move away.
“So to settle in as quickly as I have is credit to the lads really, they have all welcomed me really well as have the staff.
“This is a good club for me to really push on for the next stage of my career.”
ON HIS INITIATION:
“We’ve just been talking about that actually. We have got that tonight because we are travelling down to Stevenage today.
“A few of the lads will be singing tonight so I have to get ready for that. I’ll have to pull something out the bag.
“I normally go JLS but I think I need to switch it up because I’ve done that a few times. I think I’ll go with something else tonight.”
ON WORKING WITH MATT TAYLOR AND HIS STAFF:
“Matt is obviously a great manager. He is a really good guy, he’s down to earth and he will tell you the truth.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with him and I can’t wait to keep pushing on.
“Whatever he wants me to do, I will do that and I’ll always give my best. It’s been really positive.”
ON STARTING BOTH OUR GAMES SO FAR:
“When I came in I knew I had to hit the ground running.
“The season arrived quickly and there is no time to rest. I just have to keep pushing now and keep working hard to get better.”
