Shrewsbury Town can confirm the red card Matthew Pennington received against Fleetwood has been overturned following another successful appeal.
We have now had three players incorrectly dismissed this season.
Defender Tom Flanagan saw a red card against Accrington Stanley overturned.
Last week Captain Luke Leahy saw a red card against Cheltenham overturned.
Again on Sunday we were the victim of another wrongful dismissal when Matt Pennington was sent off against Fleetwood.
With the decision overturned Matt is now eligible to face Sunderland in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The club is pleased that these incorrect decisions have been rectified and the three red cards have been overturned by the FA.
We have also been advised the red card Ryan Bowman picked up at Cambridge on Boxing Day was a 'harsh decision.'
However on that occasion we did not have clear enough footage to appeal it.
We are also firmly of the belief the dismissals have cost us a significant number of points which we won’t be able to get back.
The club will be writing to PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) and the Football Association with our concerns.
