Elliott Bennett has been awarded the PFA’s Community Champion award for his contributions to the community during the 2022/23 season.
The 34-year-old was nominated for the honour for the outstanding work he did supporting the Shrewsbury Town Foundation last year.
Elliott was always on hand to attend player visits and proved to be an inspirational figure when working with the club’s official charity.
He also became our first rainbow laces ambassador and supported food banks in both Shrewsbury and his home town of Telford.
Jamie Edwards, chief executive of the Shrewsbury Town Foundation, said: “Players play a vital role in the football club giving back to the community.
“Player visits are at the centre of the foundation’s work and Elliott has led from the front in that area.
“He is always gracious with his time and the work he is doing in the community is leaving a real legacy.”
