Harry Burgoyne agrees one-year extension!

30 June 2023

We are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has extended his stay at his home county club for another year.

A local lad from Ludlow, Harry joined Shrewsbury in January 2020 and has gone on to play an important role in the first-team squad, both on and off the pitch.

Mid-way through last season, the 26-year-old became our first ever Her Game Too Player Advocate, vowing to do his best to support all women connected with Shrewsbury Town as well as the charitable campaign.

And now, 'H' has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Salop until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Speaking on his new deal, Harry said:

"I'm very delighted - I don't know if I can get another word out really. I can't wait to get going.

"It's going to be incredible. It's an exciting time at the football club and to have some familiar faces around will be really good.

"It's a really exciting time for the fans, the management, the players so yeah, let's get this ball rolling."

On continuing his role as our Her Game Too player advocate:

"I feel like at the back end of last season we made some really great inroads there and we've got a few things up our sleeves for this season so yeah, I'm excited to get those going again."
