SHREWSBURY Town Academy are stepping up a gear after acquiring five brand new bikes thanks to the Super Blues fund.
As part of our Academy's commitment to player care and the 24-hour Wellbeing Wheel put in place by Head of Player Care Natalie Wood, the brand new bikes will be available for use by Academy scholars day-to-day.
The bikes, supplied by VeloFit Coleham, have also been fitted with SmartWater forensic marking technology by West Mercia Police.
"We're delighted to have received these bikes and we have to thank several people for making this possible," said Natalie Wood, Head of Player Care.
"Our thanks go to the Super Blues who have been able to raise the funds for us to acquire these bikes, which will ensure independence, sustainability and freedom for our scholars.
"The scholars will be able to discover what the community of Shrewsbury has to offer whilst keeping everything in balance.
"Thanks must go to Mike Jones of VeloFit Coleham, who has now supplied us with eight bikes in total for our scholars.
"We must also thank West Mercia Police who have ensured that we have security mechanisms in place for our bikes and our scholars."
