Shrewsbury were forced to make do with just a point after being held to a goalless draw by Charlton.
A frustrating 90 minutes was concluded with Town having 15 shots - and creating multiple goalscoring opportunities - but failing to score.
It was an afternoon that felt like Salop did absolutely everything but find the back of the net.
Morgan Feeney, Tom Flanagan, Max Mata, Carl Winchester and Keiran Phillips all came close but heroics from goalkeeper Harry Isted earned Charlton a point.

Matt Taylor made two changes from the team that fell to defeat at Leyton Orient - with the head coach opting to switch his wing-backs for the game against the Addicks.
On the left, Brandon Fleming made his first league start since arriving on loan from Hull, while on the right Carl Winchester got the nod ahead of Elliott Bennett.
That meant Nohan Kenneh, Taylor Perry and Tom Bayliss were the midfield three - with Ryan Finnigan picking up an injury in training that ruled him out of the matchday squad. Max Mata and Dan Udoh continued as the front two.
Charlton lined up in a 4-2-3-1 system with Alfie May the lone striker and Tyreece Campbell in the number 10 role. Miles Leaburn and Cory Blackett-Taylor were the wide men.

Following a quiet opening 10 minutes, the game suddenly burst into life with both teams creating chances to open the scoring.
It was Charlton who threatened first with Lloyd Jones seeing a header from a corner claimed by Marko Marosi.
Town then really should have got themselves ahead when - completely unmarked - Morgan Feeney met a dangerous free-kick from Bayliss.
First, the defender saw a header brilliantly palmed away by goalkeeper Harry Isted. But the ball then fell again for Feeney who was unable to steer a shoot on target.
As the clock ticked towards the half-hour mark, Town were playing well with wing-backs Winchester and Fleming getting high and sending a lot more balls into the box. Salop were also looking a lot more dangerous at set-pieces.
And just before the break, we had two more big chances to break the deadlock.
First, Tom Flanagan looked to have perfectly placed the ball in the top corner with a wonderful effort from 20 yards. At full stretch, though, Harry Isted somehow managed to keep it out.
Then just seconds later, Fleming picked out Mata with a lovely clipped ball into the box. The striker was just a few yards out and met the ball with a diving header. But Isted again made himself big and kept it out.
The first instance of the second half was when Louie Watson’s corner found Jones whose header was saved by Marosi.
A flurry of chances then came Charlton’s way with Flanagan making a vital block in the box before Marosi saved Watson’s follow-up.
A huge red card shout came with just seven minutes to go as substitute Phillips dispossessed Isted before the keeper pushed Phillips over outside the box. The goalkeeper escaped with just a yellow card.
Two minutes later, Perry did well to win the ball in midfield before driving at goal. But instead of slipping in Phillips or Mata he fired over from just outside the box.
Town continued to push for a winner and they almost got it with virtually the last kick of the game.
A brilliant Winchester pass got Phillips through but Isted again produced heroics to keep the ball out.
