Shrewsbury Town can confirm the loan signing of Southampton midfielder Ryan Finnigan - our second and final deadline day addition.
A talented midfielder, Finnigan enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell with Crewe last season.
The 19-year-old joined Southampton's academy aged 12 and coincidentally made his senior debut for the club against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup in 2021.
The versatile midfielder has played as both an attacking and defensive midfielder, as well as featuring as a centre-half and right midfielder in his career.
He joined Crewe Alexandra on loan in January, making 16 appearances and contributing one goal and one assist.
Head coach Matt Taylor said: "Ryan’s arrival completes what has been an extremely busy 48 hours in terms of signings for the football club.
"He had an excellent loan at Crewe last season and will add competition to our midfield area.
"Physically, technically and tactically he fits the profile we want in our players. He is also very strong and has an excellent work ethic.
"We know this takes our total loans up to six. However, with Elliott Thorpe being unavailable until mid to late October, we felt the chance to sign Ryan was too big an opportunity to miss."
