As a club, we are working hard to drive women’s football across the county.
Our foundation have established a Girls' Emerging Talent Centre and we have strong ties with the Her Game Too organisation.
Furthermore, we were very privileged to host England Women Under-23s at the Meadow last September.
Led by directors Chloe Hudson-Jones, Leanne Rimmer and Brogan Cook, Shrewsbury Town Women have enjoyed huge success in recent years.
But they aren't stopping there, with the team having huge ambitious and exciting plans for the future.
Our women’s side played their first-ever league match at the Croud Meadow in May 2022.
But following their ‘Invincibles’ season which saw them win promotion, they will now play their first West Midlands Premier Division match at the stadium on Sunday, April 28.
The game against Shropshire rivals Shifnal Town Ladies will kick off at 2pm.
And Shrewsbury Town are encouraging as many fans as possible to get down to the stadium and be a part of the exciting plans the women’s team has moving forward.
Leanne Rimmer, director of Shrewsbury Town Women, said:
"Thanks to the success of England Lionesses winning the Euros in 2022 and becoming World Cup finalists in 2023, the women’s game has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last few years.
"This fixture at the Croud Meadow is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Shrewsbury Town Women and the rapid growth we want to make as a club.
“And we are doing it against our local rivals so we will need as many supporters as possible behind us.
“We have been working closely all season with the men’s first team as well as the club and were delighted to be involved in the kit design for the 2024/25 season.
"We are all excited about what the future has in store and to continue on this journey together.”

“The Shrewsbury Town women’s side has already enjoyed lots of success in recent years.

“This game will give us the chance to link up with our loyal fans and the local community to show there is a big demand for women's football across the county.
“It is another step forward for both Shrewsbury Town Women and the club as a whole.”
With digital marketing specialists Croud sponsoring both the stadium and the women’s team away shirt, the Shifnal fixture is the perfect opportunity for the club to work with Croud on an advertising project to test and learn from our supporters in the build-up and during the game.

A heavily discounted flat pricing structure of £2 per person of all ages will be charged to contribute towards the costs of staging the game.
