Armed Forces Day Interviews

15 March 2024

Shrewsbury Town are honouring those in the armed forces before and during our League One clash with Carlisle tomorrow.

Our tenth annual Military Matchday has been officially cleared for take-off and will see hundreds of military personnel attend and watch the game.

Organised by Shrewsbury Town, the Shrewsbury Town Foundation and the Shropshire Council Armed Forces Covenant team, the event famously sees the match ball arrive by helicopter.

Around 500 military personnel will be at tomorrow's game - with a military village set up in our FanZone where supporters can speak to members of the armed forces and get an understanding of some of the equipment they use.

To find out more about what the day means, you can watch interviews with flight lieutenant Ade Vine and Sean McCarthy, the armed forces covenant lead at Shropshire Council.
