Club Statement | Pyrotechnic devices

12 March 2024

All our supporters should be aware that the club are assisting the police in an investigation following the possession and use of pyrotechnic devices during the game at Port Vale last Saturday.

We will be assisting Port Vale and the Police with their investigation to identify the supporter(s) responsible. As a club we have a zero-tolerance policy to the possession and/or use of all pyrotechnic devices and we will issue a minimum 3 year ban to anyone found responsible.

Carrying/using pyrotechnic devices is a criminal offence and any reports or information relating to offences will also be referred to West Mercia Police for further action.

Anyone who can assist in the ongoing investigation can contact the club confidentially via

The potential injuries sustained as a result of someone using a pyrotechnic include:

Serious injuries, such as loss of limb or fingers
• Severe burns, due to temperatures of up to 2,000°C
• Breathing problems, due to smoke inhalation particularly supporters who might suffer from asthma or similar conditions
• Loss of hearing or sight, because of the explosive power

Any supporters who break the law in this way not only bring the good name of STFC into disrepute but also risk potential further sanctions for the club, so we take this opportunity to remind supporters of their actions and the consequences thereof.
