Former England C and England Futsal International

Alex signed on a free from Notts County in January 2017, the 29-year-old is a winger though he is comfortable playing anywhere across the front line.

He played his youth football with Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers but his first club in men’s football was Leamington.

After leaving Leamington in 2006 he played for a number of clubs whilst still at university in Nottingham including: Grantham Town, Lincoln United, Gainsborough Trinity and Nuneaton Borough.

In 2008 he joined Tamworth and helped them gain promotion to the Conference Premier in his first season and also impressed in the two seasons after which saw him earn a move to League Two Aldershot.

He spent three seasons at Aldershot, including a loan spell at York City, but in the summer of 2013 he signed for Grimsby Town.

After scoring eight goals in 48 games for Grimsby he agreed a deal with Scottish side Hibernian, but due to a managerial change it fell through and he subsequently signed for Gateshead in June 2014.

He enjoyed his spell up north scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances which saw him sign for League Two Newport County at the end of the season.

After a year at Newport, he made the move to John Sheridan’s Notts County, and after making 19 appearances in the first half of the season he signed for Shrewsbury on an 18 month deal.

Interestingly Rodman has represented his country on two levels – playing twice for England C and five times for the England futsal team.
