1-0 defeat on the road for youth team

The decisive goal for Rochdale came in the first half with Jeff Watkins going close for Town when he headed against the bar.
Town really imposed themselves on the leaders in the second half but an equaliser proved elusive.

Meanwhile, Town now know they will travel to Cambridgeshire non-League club Histon in the first round of the FA Youth Cup on a date to be arranged.
