Shrewsbury Town Football Club is delighted to unveil our new ‘Best Seats in the House’ initiative.
Sponsored by Shrewsbury-based Reach Digital Telecoms, Town have installed two Cobra heated seats with two USB ports and drinks holders situated on the half-way line behind our Sovereign seats - providing a great view of the pitch and the two technical areas for a deserving Salop fan.
As well as receiving the best seats in the house, each guest will be presented with complimentary food and drink throughout the game – as well as STFC blankets to ensure ultimate comfort.
Town CEO, Brian Caldwell caught up with ShrewsWeb to share his ideas and thoughts behind the new initiative. He said: “It’s a fantastic initiative, it has taken us longer than we’d hoped to get them up and ready for use but it’s here now.
“Reach Telecom has sponsored the seats as well as the dugout seats that were put in towards the end of last season. The idea was to have two of the Cobra dugout seats put in that are heated with USB ports and drinks holders.
“They are raised seats on the Sovereign suite’s balcony right on the half-way line, so they have a great view. They are for people who have gone through a hard time, for special occasions and things like that.
“We are delighted to launch this to give people a nice day out on Shrewsbury Town. The first person to use it is one of our oldest season ticket holders who recently celebrated his 90th birthday – he is a great person to start it off with.”
Town fans can nominate someone each game who they think deserves that extra special treat at the Montgomery Waters Meadow. All nominations will be done through the ShrewsHub app.
“We will run them on a nomination basis on the ShrewsHub app,” said Town’s CEO. “Town fans can nominate anyone they know for this – whether that is people who have gone through a hard time recently or for whatever reason.
“We are open to anything, it could be someone’s big birthday or any special occasion. I’ve not heard of any other clubs who are doing it. It was actually Cobra Seating who came to us with the concept.
“We all thought it would be a great idea, especially with Shrewsbury Town being so active in the local area. It is important that we try to encourage people to come along and give them a chance of a day out on us.”
