And now we are giving you the chance to follow in their footsteps and show your skills at the home of Shrewsbury Town.
In the close season, we are offering supporters the chance to hire the pitch for a game.
The surface is available for eight days from Monday, April 29, to Monday, May 6, with a number of slots having already been snapped up.
As well as being let loose on the pitch, you will get changed in the dressing rooms and line up in the tunnel before kick-off.
Friends and family are also welcome to share your big day and can cheer you on from the stands.
All slots are expected to sell out and bookings are being taken on a first come, first served basis so sign up early to avoid disappointment.
The price is £1,200 plus VAT, with each booking including a full two-hour allocation, an FA-qualified match referee, full use of the changing rooms and car parking.
Players of all abilities and ages are welcome, from juniors through to seniors.
